Italian orthopedic company, Porzio, has created a 3D printed leg prosthesis for Italian adaptive surfer, Fabio Secci. The multidisciplinary athlete recently completed a triathlon using the 3D printed prosthesis and plans to continue putting it to the test with his passion for wakeboarding and surfing.
The prosthesis weighs less than two pounds and took 18 hours to print. You can read the full article and learn more about the potential for 3D printing prosthesis at 3Ders.org.
Secci competed in the ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championships in 2016 and founded the organization F-Yourlimit, which encourages people with missing limbs to take up adaptive water sports.
